Welcoming The Haters

Okay, recently there has been a mass number of people form multiple social networks that complain on a daily basis about their haters. let me tell you..Youtube and Facbook are the sites that generates the most haters. Definition:
Hatred (or hate) is a word that describes the intense feelings of dislike. It can be used in a wide variety of contexts, from hatred of inanimate objects (e.g. vegetables, bicycles, tables, chairs, etc...) to hatred of other people, or even entire groups of people.

I come across post about people hating on others because they are doing positive things in their lives, and most cant even handle the fact that the person they hate on welcomes them to the fullest extent.

Facebook is a prime example of people hate! If you dont know already, those same people you added are the same ones who really didnt have a life in high school or even outside of facebook, and I bet you didnt know that those peeps are the only ones that can see what you post, if you didnt block them.:-)

Youtube on the other hand is a place that has recently become a haven for people to slander, hate, and steal. I bet if you go to a video on any channel, you will find that there are tons of people who come online just to make another feel bad.

All I can say is Haters Keep On Hating.......This picture Explains it all

Foreclosures, job losses and medical expenses have forced more of the city’s working poor from their homes as the state of Illinois, in fiscal crisis, slashes social spending. Rising homelessness in Chicago and surrounding areas is buckling the network of emergency shelters, pantries and aid programs.

The Chicago Coalition for the Homeless (CCH) estimates that 21,000 people are on the streets on a given night. Of these, the Chicago Tribune reports that less than a quarter spend the night in a shelter. Nearly half the homeless population is under the age of 22.

The city shelters are notoriously overcrowded, and often dangerous. In a week’s time, hundreds of people can be turned away for lack of beds in Chicago. The Tribune recently reported that “only 5 percent of the shelter beds were vacant in 2009, down from 12 percent in 2008.”

Filthy conditions and violence in city shelters has many homeless, especially women, preferring to take their chances on the street rather than risk physical attack in shelters or robbery of what few possessions they have. Many seeking services approach emergency shelters only as a last resort; most come only after having doubled up with relatives or friends in overcrowded conditions before finally turning to the city’s emergency service providers.

Conditions in church shelters, though few, are marginally better. Gene, who has been homeless for six weeks, told the World Socialist Web Site that he rode the city’s elevated train for two weeks until a spot in a local church shelter became available.

A single man approaching middle age, Gene explained that he had been self-employed when the costs of a leg injury became burdensome, and he was evicted. Still under doctor’s supervision, he said he’d been scrambling to find a place to go after his allotted 90 days at the church shelter are up, despite the fact that he will not yet be able to work.

Gene told the WSWS, “You have people looking at you like you’re a loser, like you did this to yourself.”

Like thousands of others who have become homeless during this recession, Gene said that at first he had no idea how to navigate the network of services that might be available to him.

In February, the homelessness prevention hotline operated by the Chicago Alliance to End Homelessness received 59 percent more calls that in February 2008, many coming from families whose income is more than $30,000 per year.

Since the 2010 Illinois state budget for homeless services has been reduced by $12.7 million, next year is expected to be particularly bleak for the homeless, as well as those seeking homeless prevention services. Some state officials aim to use funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to plug budget holes, while slashing state budgets for homeless services, which will make the existing problems much worse once the federal dollars are spent.

Illinois trails only California in its budget deficit, and state agencies that provide social services are under enormous pressure to continue to operate, though they have not been paid by the state of Illinois since the 2010 fiscal year began in July, as reported on Chicago Public Radio. As of this month, one Southside shelter serving homeless youth and their children owes more than $42,000 in rent.

Lack of affordable housing is a major driver of homelessness in Chicago and the surrounding area. The CCH states that in the first few days of the 2008 application period the Chicago Housing Authority received 500,000 applications for the 40,000 housing units available. In the spring of 2008, CCH also noted that in 117 municipalities in Illinois, less than 10 percent of the housing stock is considered to be affordable; 108 of these municipalities are in the Chicago region, mostly in the northern and western suburbs where there are more jobs available.

In 2007, Chicago Mayor Richard Daley pledged to eradicate homelessness by 2012 by broadening the Affordable Housing Ordinance to require developers to reserve at least 10 percent of most new housing developed for those making the area’s median income of $75,000. The proposal was broadly criticized as cosmetic.

The lack of affordable housing in the Chicago area reflects a nationwide problem. The National Low-Income Housing coalition estimates that 1.7 million more housing units are needed to meet housing needs for low-income households. The same study reports that one-fifth of US jobs do not bring in wages to meet a family’s basic needs. The result of decades of paltry wages and increasing housing costs is that one in seven households in the United States faces severe housing cost burdens as housing costs rapidly outpace wages.

No Longer Doing Shows @ Velvet Rope Lounge

Hay Friends, The House Of Giovanni had their show cut due to some bullcrap thats going on inside the Velvet Rope. They have been doing pretty much free shows for 1year in Oak Park, and this could be a major blow to their establishment. They have brought people form all over to come and check out the shows as well as the lounge itself. The House of Giovanni kinda knew this was gonna happen so they secured a couple more places in the city so that the fun can continue. Now that the Velvet Rope is out of our systems(so far) the H.O.G crew can now venture into new territories, and so can our supporters. The Velvet Rope is a nice place, but fairly small, and really cant measure up to clubs that have already took their mark. All we can do is move on and continue to do big things in the city of Chicago!!! With that being said, you can catch our show @ our new spot which is Betty's Blue Star Lounge here in Chicago. New Year, New People...

Gay Relationship Talk #1

We all know that hetero relationships can be good, bad, or both, but when you are dealing with gay relations..Its a whole nother ballgame! The reason I say that is because I have been in about 3 serious relations with guys and they all seem to have the same thing in common, which is "you spend too much time on the computer!" I now this may seem like something little, but for me, it really gets irritating because being on the computer is something that I really enjoy and it keeps me informed of happening etc...Also, I keep running into men who love me so hard that its hard for them to understand that I am how I am. I used to be one of those guys who just said fuck it and I'll move on to the next, but times have changed and I am not getting any younger. I am currently in a relationship that has had its ups and downs, but we are trying to work on things. I just hate when people depend on you so much that if you miss a beat, they get an attitude with you like you are not suppose to get one back. I have been with the same guy for the last 3 years, and it almost seems as if we are companions more than true lovers. What should we do? I know that sometimes we need to work on ourselves, but 2 brains work well together. Let me know any advice you may have:-)

Drag Makeup: Who is Who?

Ok, I know that this may be random and a lil blunt, but all I want to know is why is it that Drag has become so popular again, that women are now looking more and more like they are caking on the makeup? I am on youtube so much and I watch a lot of makeup tutorials and looks, and I see that nobody is telling some of these women that they look like clowns? I really want to send them help, but then again, people are so sensitive and they may get mad at me, or make a rant video..LOLOL But, in real life, it's now hard for a drag queen to stand out. So what are we to do? I know that the colors and different techniques are the bomb, but it's truly not for everyone. Also for a lot of men, it's becoming very hard to distinguish and it seems like they are being turned off by it. It don't mean that drag is out, all I am saying that women should look way more natural and not piling all that makeup on like drag queens do. Drag queen have strong bones, and a different structure and women have more of a soft bone structure. Don't go out in 2010 looking like bozo's sidekicks, but go out as professional sexy women, and not crossdressers:-)
